Does chlorinated water attack WARCO products?
Whether water containing chlorine attacks a WARCO product made of rubber granulate depends on the chlorine content of the water and the intensity of contact between the material and water containing chlorine (from briefly wetted to permanently soaked). The material composition of the WARCO product also plays a decisive role.
However, the rule of thumb is
- All WARCO products can be cleaned with water containing a chlorine-based cleaning agent in normal household quantities.
- Products containing SBR cannot be soaked in water containing chlorine.
- Products in which only EPDM rubber granules have been processed can be permanently impregnated with chlorinated water and are therefore suitable for use directly at the edge of a public or intensively used indoor or outdoor pool.
- Products with a surface made of EPDM and a base made of SBR, which are recommended by WARCO for use in swimming pools (mainly outdoor pools), can be temporarily soaked in low concentrations of chlorinated water.
